The PATHOS Workshop Series is the first of its kind to engage art practitioners to examine global conflict and its representation in contemporary art and literature in Ireland. Our transdisciplinary workshops draw on Research-Creation methodologies, and feature a cohort of thirteen Irish and Irish-based writers, artists, musicians, and theatre-makers currently working on themes relating to conflict.

The workshop series began in March 2025 and is ongoing. It is designed and organised by Ailbhe McDaid and Julie Morrissy in partnership with The Glucksman Gallery in Cork, where the workshops take place. Each workshop foregrounds a different thematic focus, and relies on collective thinking, walking methodologies and building dialogue across art forms and disciplines in order to uncover new ways of thinking about global conflict in the Irish context.
